St. Lucie County is served by an exceptional array of health care providers including five hospitals as well as a variety of other medical and health related services:
 

Cleveland Clinic Martin Health is a nonprofit community-based healthcare organization with three acute care hospitals: Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital in Stuart, and Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital in Port St. Lucie. Together, these three hospitals have 521 beds.

  • In addition to acute hospital care, Cleveland Clinic Martin Health provides preventive, primary and acute hospital care, as well as cancer care, a heart center, wellness and rehabilitation services, and much more.
  • Cleveland Clinic Martin Health has received numerous awards and has been accredited by The Joint Commission, one of the most respected accreditations in the world.

Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital

  • State-of-the-art acute care facility in Port St. Lucie with 177 private rooms. Services include intensive care, labor and delivery, neonatal intensive care, general and specialized surgery, inpatient oncology, diagnostic imaging, MRI, CT, GI/ endoscopy, and laboratory services.
  • The emergency department has 27 private beds and an 18-bed observation unit designed to improve the flow of emergency patients who require an extended or overnight stay.
  • In 2017, the hospital added a state-of-the-art interventional lab for cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology and vascular procedures.
  • Two medical office buildings are on the campus of Tradition Hospital. HealthPark One and HealthPark Two offer convenient access to a variety of medical specialties, an outpatient surgery center and retail pharmacy.

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital  

  • Established in 1977, Lawnwood Hospital is a 392-bed, full-service acute care hospital accredited by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Specializing in emergency services, dedicated pediatric emergency services, Level II trauma services, maternity, Level III neonatal services, pediatric intensive care services, comprehensive stroke services, minimally invasive surgery and open-heart surgery, providing high quality, exceptional patient care to Fort Pierce residents and surrounding communities. Recognized as a Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care and an American College of Surgeons Verified Level II Trauma Center.

HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital

  • Established in 1983, St. Lucie Hospital is a 207-bed acute care facility. The combined efforts of more than 400 skilled physicians and more than 900 dedicated employees have resulted in one of the most comprehensive healthcare facilities in Port St. Lucie. St. Lucie Hospital offers a full range of services that include a birthing center, cardiac catheterization lab, cancer care, minimally invasive robotic surgery, gynecologic, general and vascular surgery and wound care with hyperbarics. Additionally, St. Lucie is home to a Senior-Friendly ER and Freestanding ER at Darwin Square as well as the Orthopedic & Spine Institute.

More than a dozen walk-in clinics and urgent care centers, multiple assisted living facilities, Treasure Coast Hospice and nearly 100 dentists serve St. Lucie County.

HANDS of St. Lucie is a network of health providers, agencies, and volunteers dedicated to increasing health care access to those least likely to receive regular health care — uninsured adults age 19 to 64.

The region is home to a variety of life sciences companies, research institutions and biotech firms including Florida Institute for Translational Science , recently selected as a Center for National Cancer Institute NExT Program, USDA Agricultural & Horticultural Research Lab, Florida Atlantic University’s Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, Scripps Research and the Max Planck Institute.
